“The Council of Ministers announces the award of the first dry port to one of the alliances.”
In its weekly meeting today, the Cabinet reviewed the executive position regarding the procedures for establishing, managing and operating the dry port in the 6th of October project. Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, indicated that the bid for one of the consortia was accepted, due to its conformity with the technical and financial conditions set. Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, said that the coalition includes 3 companies, namely DB Schenker Egypt, El Sewedy Electric and 3A, indicating that the most appropriate financial and technical offer for the state and one of the 3 consortia that submitted in the tender has been reached. The Minister of Transport added that the dry port in 6th of October City will provide job opportunities for 3,500 employees and workers at the port.
