Aramco Shipping considers leasing of LNG tankers.
Maritime Transport Sector sources said today, Monday, that the Saudi National Shipping Company, the shipping arm of Saudi Aramco, has issued an interest in leasing up to 12 LNG carriers, as of 2025, to enter the field of LNG for the first time. No further details were available, and Saudi Aramco declined to comment, and expressing interest is an initial inquiry that may lead to orders. According to its website, the Saudi National Shipping Company has six main sectors: oil, chemicals, logistics, bulk cargo and ship and data management, and it owns 90 tankers and ships, including 43 giant oil tankers, and 36 chemical and petroleum products carriers.
