The government of India is leading the digitization of the bill of lading and commercial documents with Portal and CargoX.
India is digitizing freight bills and other business document workflows as one of the last missing elements in the country’s electronic port community (PCS) system. PCS, which offers a P-CaSo specialized service market, was built by Portall Infosystems, and they have integrated CargoX’s Document Chain Transfer (BDT) platform. The Indian Port Community System has experienced a three-fold growth for users since 2018, when Portall successfully won the bid for the PCS update. The main objective has been to improve EODB ratings in India, reduce health risks, and avoid bottlenecks that occur while dealing with a paper-intensive operation to date for export of goods-import (EXIM) in its ports by digitizing operations.
