Learn about the nature of “temporary warehouses” in accordance with the new customs law.
Customs Law No. 207 of 2020 aims to simplify and facilitate customs procedures, encourage national economic projects, facilitate international trade, increase governance of customs control procedures, maintain national security, and increase the degree of citizens’ satisfaction. The law includes a new system called “temporary customs warehouses” so that ports are transit gates for goods, and not places for their storage or accumulation, and to legalize the position of the yards and stores that originate inside the ports and through which customs services are provided on imported and exported goods, taking into account that ports are transit gates and not Storage yards.
