Finance Minister: Connecting all land, sea and air ports through the “single window” platform at the end of June.
Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, said that the coming stage will witness an unprecedented customs boom that will contribute to stimulating economic development in Egypt, including the global practices contained in the new customs law that help revitalize international trade. He stressed that we are proceeding strongly in the implementation of the national project to modernize and automate the customs administration system, which enjoys great support from the political leadership, and that all land, sea and air ports are to be connected to an electronic platform through the single window system for customs by the end of next June. In order to simplify procedures, reduce the time for customs clearance, and reduce the cost of goods and services in the local markets, in a manner that leads to improving Egypt’s ranking in three important international indicators: “global competitiveness, doing business, and the macroeconomic environment”, creating an investment climate, and maximizing productive capabilities. Expanding the export base and facilitating the movement of domestic and foreign trade.
