The most important changes in the terms of trade “Incoterms 2020”
Dr. Mohamed Salah, Lecturer of Logistics and Supply Chains at the Middle East College in Amman, says that with the beginning of the new year, the new version of the international trade terms “Incoterms 2020” has become effective and can be used in commercial contracts. He pointed out that these conditions do not act as a substitute for contracts, but rather one of the conditions of international commercial contracts. They summarize responsibilities, costs and risks and distribute them between sellers and buyers. And he pointed out that the most important changes in the new version is the addition of a new item called “Delivered at place DPU” instead of “Delivered at Terminal”, meaning that the delivery is not a condition that is in the terminal and can take place elsewhere.
