In the book, Baroudi reviews the emergence of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and its growing impact, whose rules and standards have become the basis of almost all maritime negotiations and agreements. The book also explains how recent progress in science and technology, particularly accurate mapping, has expanded the guidelines of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea to find a settlement to the disputes that underlie it.
